Children and Youth are invited to serve in our worship services in very important ways!
Acolytes are the service participants who carry the crosses, candles, and other items in procession, and who help in a number of important ways throughout the service. Becoming an acolyte is a great way to get involved and to learn more about Episcopal worship.
Children ages 8-12 are invited to serve as Torch Bearers and Banner Bearers. They are an example of reverent and joyful worship to the entire congregation providing an opportunity for them to become a more active and visible part of our liturgy.
Youth from 6th-12th grades can then graduate and become Crucifers (Cross Bearers). The Crucifer not only leads the worship party in and out of the service, but also assists the clergy in setting the table for the Eucharist. It is a great way for them to serve as young leaders in our worship!
If your children or youth are interested in participating or you would like to know more, please contact our Youth Director, Will Scheel. Training is provided so the youth can be comfortable in their new role.
