The Reverend William Charles (Chuck) Treadwell III, Rector 

     The Reverend William Charles (Chuck)  Treadwell III was born and raised in Rock Hill, South Carolina.  He attended Georgetown College in Kentucky where he received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology in 1982. 

     He then moved to Texas to work at a residential treatment center for emotionally disturbed teenagers.  He met his wife, Chris, a nursing student at U.T.A., who introduced him to the Episcopal Church.  They married in 1985 and he was confirmed that same year.  He then enrolled in seminary at the University of the South, Sewanee, graduating with a Master of Divinity degree in 1989.  He was ordained a deacon at St. Matthew’s Cathedral, Dallas, that same year.

He then served on the staff of St. Michael and All Angels, Dallas, first as Curate, Single Adult Minister and School Chaplain, then as Assistant Priest until 1993, at which time he accepted the position of Rector at St. Peters in McKinney, Texas.  He and his wife, Chris, have three children:  Caleb; Colton; and Caroline.

Father Chuck enjoys fishing, hiking, reading and watching his children grow.

The Reverend Brad St.Romain; Associate Rector

The Rev. Brad St.Romain was born and raised in New Orleans, Louisiana.  He attended Jesuit High School there and later graduated from LSU where he met his wife, Lisa.  Lisa and Brad were married in 1981 and have three daughters: Caroline; Suzette; and Chloe.  Lisa is the Director of Children’s Ministries at St. Paul's.

After a career in the Marine Electronics Industry, Father Brad entered The Episcopal Theological Seminary of the Southwest (ETSS) in 2000, where he received a Masters of Divinity degree in 2003.  Since graduating, he has been serving as chaplain for Hospice Austin. During his time with Hospice Austin, Father Brad also served as Assisting Clergy at Good Shepherd, Austin, and he then became Priest in Charge at Christ Church, Cedar Park.

  Father Brad enjoys fishing, reading, and playing guitar.

The Reverend Alex Montes; Curate and Canterbury Chaplain 

The Rev. Alex Montes was born in Huacho, a small town north of Lima, Perú.  In 1975, his family moved to Guatemala, where his father attended seminary.  When his father graduated from seminary, he was invited to pastor a church in Harlingen, Texas.  That’s how Alex’s family ended up in the United States, and Texas.  They spent six years in the “Valley” and then moved to Houston.

He married Thi (pronounced “tea”) after his freshman year in college.  Thi also left her country in 1975: Vietnam.  Alex enlisted in the United States Army (field artillery) a year later and was deployed to the Persian Gulf, during the Desert Shield/Storm.  After four years in the Army, Alex returned to school and graduated from the University of Houston with a degree in Electrical Engineering.

While in college, he worked as a priest’s assistant and worship leader for the Spanish-speaking congregation at Church of the Redeemer, Houston.  After graduating, he worked at Iglesia Episcopal, San Mateo, Houston, as the youth pastor and worship leader.   Alex graduated from the Virginia Theological Seminary (VTS), Alexandria, Virginia, in May 2005, and was ordained in June of the same year.

Alex and Thi have three beautiful children: Alejandro Thanh; Alissa Mai Thi; and Laura Huyen.  They also have a dog (shih-tzu) named Julian.

Alex enjoys bothering his kids (and wife), jogging (when he wakes up early), reading, watching movies, and playing musical instruments.

 The Reverend Michael Attas, M.D.; Assisting Priest 

In 1994, Father Mike began commuting to the Episcopal Theological Seminary of the Southwest in Austin, TX, where he graduated with a Master of Divinity degree in May of 1999. He was ordained to the priesthood in June of 1999, and now serves as Director of Medical Humanities at Baylor University. The program is designed to foster the integration of faith and medicine in the health care vocations. He serves as a part time Assisting Priest at St. Paul's, and provides supply services for other churches in the Northwest Convocation.

Reverend Attas is married to Gail who has served St. Paul's in various capacities, including EFM Mentor, Christian Education and Youth committee member, and vestry member. They have three children: Jason, Jessica and her husband Eric, and Amanda. His hobbies include fly fishing, golf, skiing, and running.

 

The Reverend Frank B. Mangum; Assisting Priest (Retired) 
The Reverend Frank B. Mangum, is a retired priest of the Diocese of Texas.

Reverend Mangum moved to Texas in 1961 to be the Associate Rector of St. Paul's Church. He has served as Rector of the Church of the Holy Comforter in Angleton, St. Paul's Church in Houston, and Christ Church in Nacogdoches. He has also been a Staff Chaplain of St. Luke's Episcopal Hospital in the Texas Medical Center. 

He represented the Diocese of Texas as a Trustee of the University of the South for five terms. Reverend Mangum has also served on the Diocesan level as Chairman of the Department of Christian Education, Secretary of the Executive Board, Secretary of the Bishop Quin Foundation, and a member of the Episcopal Foundation of Texas. 

In 1966 Reverend Mangum married Dorothea Payne Caskey. She has been a faculty member of Baylor University and Texas A&M University in Galveston.

The Mangums built their retirement home in Woodway in 1996.

 

The Reverend Will Douglas; Assisting Priest (Retired) 

The Reverend William S. Douglas retired in 1993 as Staff Chaplain from St. Luke’s Episcopal Hospital in the Texas Medical Center where he worked with the heart transplant team as Chaplain to the patients and their families.  

He also has served as rector of Trinity Church, Marshall; The Church of the Advent, Alice; and St. Paul’s, Brady, all in Texas.  In the Diocese of West Texas he was Dean of the Northern Convocation, Chairman of the Diocesan Town and Country Division, and member of the Diocesan Executive Board.

In the communities he has been active in local affairs and in the Lions Club, serving as president in both the Brady and Marshall clubs.  He has a Grand Master Membership Key, having sponsored over 50 new members.  In Houston, Father Will was a volunteer at St. Luke’s Hospital following his retirement; he also was a Houston Opera volunteer.  In Wimberley, he was a member of the Senior Activity Center Board; assisted in the Meals-on-Wheels program and was a volunteer at both the Visitors’ Center and the Community Thrift Shop, which supports community-wide enrichment programs. 

Father Will is a native Texan, born in San Antonio, and a lifelong Episcopalian.  He graduated from the University of Pittsburgh with a Bachelor of Science degree and from Virginia Seminary with a Master in Divinity degree.  He was ordained to the Diaconate in Christ Church, San Antonio, in 1953 and to the Priesthood in Trinity Church, Edna, where he served as Vicar-in-Charge from 1953 to 1957.

Father Will enjoys music, especially opera and the symphony.  During his retirement years he has enjoyed playing “old favorites” on his Lowrey organ.  He and Marion, a native Houstonian, enjoy travel and playing board games with friends and family.
