St. Paul’s has a robust music program and sees music as an integral part of our shared worship experience together. It is our goal in the music ministries to faithfully witness to a Christ who is welcoming, compassionate, and life-giving. The God we worship is not easily defined or contained, and no one style or type of music or liturgy can encompass all of our experiences. So we stretch toward the mystery, not fully understanding all that God has packed into the music we perform, but trusting the Holy Spirit to use us and use our song in ways we cannot imagine. There are two active choirs at St. Paul’s.
Rehearsals: Sundays 9:30-10:50AM
The Chancel Choir sings for the 11:00AM service and major festival liturgies and Performing Arts events. The musical repertoire is varied, ranging from chant to modern literature. There are no auditions; anyone with a desire to sing is encouraged to join! New members welcome!
The 9:00AM choir leads singing for the 9:00AM service and other Rite II services throughout the year, including a seasonal Taizé Prayer service in the Chapel of the Four Sisters. The choir sings a wide range of music, from Renaissance pieces to Spirituals, and participates in various fellowship opportunities throughout the year, including service projects, jamborees, and seasonal parties. No auditions are required, and all singers, instrumentalists, and music lovers are invited to join!
